Turbines

I shot this image beneath a breaking wave, where all the ocean’s energy funnels into powerful underwater turbines. With clear water but overcast skies above, I adapted to the conditions and slowed my shutter to capture the motion below the surface. Not the easiest subject to shoot but one I enjoy the most when it comes to underwater photography.

Born and raised in the Hawaiian Islands, where life naturally revolves around the ocean. Like many who grow up on an island, I found my way to the water but I brought a camera with me every time.
