This image is inspired by the light, colour palette, and seascapes of classical Dutch paintings. Shot on the Dutch coast in autumn during a storm in Scheveningen, it captures a local surfer within a raw and shifting landscape. The dramatic sky and warm, dark tones remind me of the timeless light of Dutch seascapes I’ve always admired as a Dutch surfer and photographer.
