I captured this image from a vantage point that offers a rare and commanding view of Pipeline. Reaching this spot is always a commitment in itself, but the payoff is the perspective. You get a clean overlook of one of the most iconic and powerful waves in the world. What drew me to this moment was the precise alignment of elements, the wave breaking at full form, a lone surfer positioned in the pocket, and the natural framing created by the palm trees along the shoreline below.
